Dr. Alex Thor
Dentist
My passion in dentistry is to help patients live healthier and fuller lives by meeting their dental needs, whether it is relieving dental pain, fixing a cracked tooth, straightening crowded teeth, or just maintaining their smiles.
I enjoy working with people every day from all walks of life. Each person brings in their own unique life story; they have pets and children; they may be mothers or fathers; they have jobs and hobbies; they may be experiencing happiness or sadness. Sometimes, as dentists, we're so focused on what's going on in and around the mouth area that we tend to forget that they indeed are still human beings after all. The personal relationships I’ve created with my patients are the real reason I love coming to work each day.
Education and Continuing Education

Taking continuing education courses allows me to be kept abreast of the most up-to-date topics and news in dentistry, new medicines, and the best dental products and techniques available. Ultimately, it allows me to be a better dentist and enables me to treat my patients more efficiently and effectively. In addition to attending courses and seminars, I am also involved in the greater dental community through my affiliations with the American Dental Association and the Wisconsin Dental Association.
Outside the Office
Originally from Manitowoc, WI, I now live in Sun Prairie with my wife, Cindy, and our four children, Scarlett, Kelvin, Natalie, and Ciara. When I’m not spending time with my family, I enjoy taking in all our beautiful community has to offer, including biking, camping, fishing, bird watching, fish keeping, and gardening.
Shyla
Dental Hygienist
I have been with Token Creek Dental Center since April 2009. I am responsible for evaluating, treating, and communicating the periodontal health conditions of my patients so their teeth and mouth can be healthy for a lifetime. Patient education is such an important aspect of my job. I love teaching patients the best and most effective ways of improving their dental health at home. I also enjoy working with patients who are very nervous or just haven’t been to the dentist in a while. Everyone on our team is great at putting patients at ease!
I grew up in Sun Prairie and live here with my husband, Jeremy, and our three kids, Gavin, Madisyn, and Payten. I enjoy spending time with my family up in the northern woods, where we spend our days on our boat during the summer and snowmobiling during the winter. I also love to travel and my passion is scuba diving!
Cindy
Office Manager
I am a UW-Madison alumni with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters in Business Administration. In addition to assisting with treatment plans, insurances, and payment arrangements, I make sure the office runs smoothly. Often times, we have patients who are fearful of dentists and it feels great to be able to work with them, making their experiences here at our office as pleasant as possible. I have always known that Alex loves his field of work and the services he provides for his patients; however, until I actually started working here with him, I never truly understood how passionate he is about dentistry. Every day, I enjoy seeing his enthusiasm in helping and providing the very best possible care for his patients.
My husband, Dr. Thor, and I have four beautiful children together, daughters Scarlett, Natalie, Ciara and son Kelvin. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with family, garden, and travel.
My family and I have been patients at Token Creek Dental for about three years now. We have always received excellent care for regular cleanings, checkups and cavity fillings. Dr. Thor and the staff of Token Creek Dental are friendly, professional, timely and knowledgeable. And they are really patient with my kiddos, which eases my stress as a parent and helps our visits go smoothly.
